Energy Performance of Buildings
Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and Display Energy Certificates data for buildings in Calderdale.
The Office for National Statistics uses EPC data as evidence in the article "Energy efficiency of housing in England and Wales 2024".
- Median Energy Efficiency score, England and Waleswww.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/housing/datasets/medianenergyefficiencyscoreenglandandwales
Median energy efficiency score of dwellings in England and Wales, by property type, tenure, property age and whether new or existing. Published by the Office for National Statistics. Updated annually in October
- Energy efficiency of dwellings in your areawww.ons.gov.uk/visualisations/dvc2182/map/index.html
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) produced this data visualisation tool to show the energy efficiency of dwellings in an area. It shows maps for all dwellings, existing houses and flats and new houses and flats. The visualisation is included in an article by the ONS about the energy efficiency of housing in England and Wales in 2022. ONS base findings in the article on analysis of EPC open data from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Open Data Communities website.
- Energy efficiency of homes in your area: proportion of homes with an EPC of C or abovewww.ons.gov.uk/visualisations/dvc1628/fig1/index.html
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has published this data visualisation map which shows the energy efficiency of homes in an area. It shows the number and proportion of homes in area with an EPC rating of C or above, and the proportion in the local authority built before 1900, or built in 2012 or later. The visualisation is included in an article by the ONS which show the age of a property is the most significant factor associated with energy efficiency, ahead of fuel type and property type. ONS base these findings on analysis of EPC open data from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Open Data Communities website.
- Live tables on Energy Performance of Buildings Certificateswww.gov.uk/government/statistical-data-sets/live-tables-on-energy-performance-of-buildings-certificates
Tables showing data from certificates lodged on the Energy Performance of Buildings Registers since 2008.
There is also an interactive dashboard to explore on this site which presents quarterly statistics on Energy Performance Certificates issued for domestic and non-domestic buildings.
- Hex Maps: Housing in Calderdale Wards - Capacity for Improvementodileeds.org/projects/energyusage/EPC/wards-calderdale
EPC certificates represent a fantastic resource, helping to better understand the energy efficiency of buildings and how they can be improved. EPCs contain data on indicators which detail the current and potential performance that each building can achieve. The difference between these two values can be considered as the buildings capacity for improvement. in 2018 ODI Leeds used hex maps to represent this data at ward level to visualise areas within Calderdale that would benefit the most from improvements.
