Calderdale Joint strategic needs assessment (JSNA)

All Health and Wellbeing boards are responsible for producing a JSNA. They are used to identify the priorities to improve health and wellbeing, and to reduce health inequalities across the borough.

Calderdale’s JSNA can be found at Joint strategic needs assessment (JSNA) | Calderdale Council.

Our JSNA is split into six themes:

  • Starting well.
  • Developing well.
  • Living and working well.
  • Ageing well.
  • Building blocks of good health.
  • Communities and place.

These themes follow the Health and Wellbeing board life-course approach. They are themes which are important for people being able to live a larger life.

We have developed interactive dashboards for Starting well and Ageing well. We plan to develop dashboards for other themes too. The dashboards can be found on the Data Works Dashboards page.

Starting well

Starting well is focussed on ensuring all children are ready to start school. Every child should have the chance to develop well regardless of where they live, their background or if they need extra support.

The data used in this theme includes demographics, maternal risks, fertility levels, breastfeeding, child measurements, vaccinations and development levels. The data is available at ward and family hub areas.

Find out more at Public Health dashboards: Starting well.

Ageing well

Ageing well is focussed on ensuring Calderdale is an age friendly place where people live in healthy and vibrant communities with strong social networks.

The data used in this theme includes demographics, loneliness and social connection, housing, economics, general health, screening and vaccinations, fraility, life expectancy and mortality. The data is available at ward and Integrated neighbourhood team areas.
