Employment and Skills Framework
The Employment and Skills dashboard has been developed to monitor and show progress against key indicators in our Employment and Skills Framework (2024-2029). The Framework will help get more people in Calderdale into learning, training and employment by delivering a skills system that meets the needs of employers and residents.
The indicators are used to measure change against our objectives to improve outcomes for people and businesses in Calderdale:
- Addressing skills and labour gaps and shortages.
- Further improving skills and qualifications and connections to education.
- Reducing inequalities.
- Reducing unemployment and economic inactivity.
- Supporting good jobs.

This interactive dashboard shows latest data for indicators identified within each objective in addition to providing trend and comparator data against West Yorkshire, regional and national averages.

Connections between the Employment & Skills Framework and Calderdale’s Inclusive Economy Strategy (IES) are particularly important. Both aim to support wellbeing, inclusion, business success and a thriving and sustainable economy, and the desired employment and skills outcomes this Framework sets out are framed in relation to the five goals of the IES.
You can find about more about this on our Inclusive Economy Strategy dashboard.
