Office for National Statistics (ONS) Population Estimates by district, ward, parish, neighbourhood plan area, MSOA (Medium layer super output area) , LSOA (Lower layer super output area), age and gender.
ONS published 2024 mid year population estimates in July 2025. For background information on projections for population change in England see ONS article "Population estimates for England and Wales: mid-2024".
2025 estimates are expected in summer 2026. Small area estimates for 2025 expected autumn 2026.
Small area estimates including ward estimates for 2023 and 2024 were published November 2025.
New ward information 2026: There will be local (district) elections on 7th May 2026 for new wards following a Local Government Boundary Commission review. The ward information included in reports below is based on ward boundaries that predate these elections. The Office for National Statistics is due to publish 2026 ward boundary information in June / July 2026. Once that has been published ward information in the reports below will be updated.
